How can I create a Contra?

 To create a Contra within the Smart145 system, you must follow these steps.

  •  Navigate to the "Accounting module", in the Contra Manager section, and click the green button labeled NEW CONTRA. Once you do this, a modal will open for you to populate the required fields. 

  • Select the vendor to which you want to apply the Contra. If this vendor is already linked to a customer, the customer related will appear automatically. If not, a modal will pop up allowing you to link it directly from there. 



  Similarly, if you prefer, you can link it from the customer profile in the "Customers" module.

  • Click the blue button on the right labeled USE THIS VENDOR AND CUSTOMER
 
  •  Once you do this, all payments associated with the selected vendor and customer will appear, allowing you to choose which one to match. Please note that the checkmark symbols indicate that they have not been selected yet. Once you click the checkmark and it shows a reload symbol, you will know that this record has been selected to create the contra. Then click "Create".
 

  Please note that in order to create a Contra, the amounts associated with the selected accounts must be equal. 

  •  Once created, you can apply it directly from the "Contra Manager" browser by clicking the three dots menu on the right of the Contra and selecting "Apply". 


Once the Contra is applied, the "Accounts Payable" and "Accounts Receivable" records associated with those transactions will appear with a "Paid" status and "Contra" as Payment Method.
