Can I send out a request for quotation to a supplier listed in Parts Base from Smart 145?

Yes, indeed you can.

The first step is to provide our support team with your  Parts Base (PB) credentials and wait to receive our confirmation. Next, you may start interacting with PB right from the Inventory module.

Tip: Notice that the GL assigned to the part must be an inventory ledger for the Marketplaces tab to get enabled.

There are two general approaches to use the Marketplaces listing services, from a seller or a buyer standpoint. If you decide to push an inventory to the listing service of choice, the item should be dealt with through the Inventory> Listing screen. We'll delve into this feature in an upcoming article.

Focusing now on the buyer standpoint, not only will you be able to check on price references but also create and/ or send out requests for quotations to the suppliers in the PB list,  either for the one part you searched for in the inventory view or for multiple parts.

Whether you create or send out the request to the prospective vendor, a record will be kept under Quotes> Request for Quotes (from vendor).

Once the quotation is received, and the details are entered into the system, a sales quote (from) entry will be appended to the item on the Inventory Screen.
