How can I set an expiration date for a quote to be signed or approved by a customer?

When sending a Quote to a customer, you can set the period of time during which this quote can be signed or approved. This can be done by setting a Valid Thru date for that quote or by using the "Valid_period_for_quotation_period" default.

To set a Valid Thru date, you just need to go to the Quotation tab of the Edit view of the Work Order in question and select the desired date in the calendar button of the Valid Thru option.

In case the Valid Thru date is not set, there's a default in the system that sets the number of days after which it won't be possible for your customers to sign or approve a quote once the email is sent. This default can be edited in Defaults>Work Order>Valid_period_for_quotation, as shown in the images.

Note that the number of days set in this default will not populate the Valid Thru field in the Quotation tab of the Work Orders, and that it will work only if there isn't a Valid Thru date set. Once either of the two options is set, if a customer tries to sign or approve a quote after the expiration date, they will receive a message stating "Access Forbidden. The time for signing has expired".
